The practice
More than folk remedy
Medical herbalism is a regulated, evidence informed healthcare discipline that uses plants as medicine to restore and support health. Qualified herbalists study for four years, covering plant medicine, human sciences, pathophysiology, clinical nutrition, counselling, and research, before graduating with a degree equivalent qualification.
Where conventional medicine often targets isolated symptoms, herbal medicine looks at the full picture; the interaction between body systems, the role of stress, diet, and lifestyle, and the underlying causes of ill health rather than just its expression. Plants contain complex mixtures of compounds that work synergistically, which is why a skilled herbalist tailors each prescription rather than prescribing off-the-shelf.
The approach at Herbelle Remedies sits within the western herbal tradition, drawing on centuries of European and British plant folklore, while grounding every decision in up-to-date clinical research.
